This self catering accommodation is a period family home of quality and an ideal base for that special Scottish holiday. The Rosamunde Pilcher Bank House (previously owned by the writer and now by her daughter-in-law) is a large, spacious two-floor flat, in the last year beautifully renovated throughout, situated in the High Street of Dornoch, Scotland right opposite the cathedral. With oil-fired central heating, it is a self-catering holiday home with a difference, with four comfortable double bedrooms and three shower rooms, with one also having a bath; a well-sized modern kitchen with large pine table for breakfast/dinner; a relaxing, sun-lit sitting room with open gas fire and large bay window that looks out onto the cathedral. At the rear of the building, there is an extensive private garden with flowerbeds and sloping lawns.

The Pilcher Bank House has a wonderfully central location with all the best shops, restaurants and pubs situated within minutes of the property. Car parking is on the street and free throughout Dornoch. It is only a ten-minute walk to the famous Royal Dornoch Golf Club, and then a further five minutes will take you on to the unspoiled lengths of Dornoch beach, perfect for a bucket and spader or for walking the dog.

First Floor

Sitting Room
Large and spacious. The bay window, overlooking the cathedral, has a cushioned seat that surrounds a wooden gate-legged table, the perfect place for an evening meal or a game of cards. Two large sofas and a armchair are drawn up in front of the open gas fire, and to one side is a television with Sky TV and a DVD player. There is also a small CD player/radio with an iPod dock.

Bedroom 1
This has a megasize double bed situated so that it looks out onto the cathedral. There is also a large dark-panelled wardrobe, a chest of drawers., and a dressing table and armchair.

Bedroom 2
This has two comfortable Laura Ashley single beds with a curtained recess for hanging clothes and a chest of drawers.

Bathroom 1
The blue and white wallpapered room has a tiled floor, large shower, basin and Saniflow lavatory system.

Bathroom 2
Cushion-flooring, with bath and Mira power shower, basin and lavatory.

Kitchen
Recently completely renewed, the kitchen has a large pine dining table with eight chairs, 'touch' hob with integrated oven, dishwasher, fridge freezer, and all necessary crockery and cooking implements. In the old larder off the kitchen, there is a clothes washer and dryer.

Upper Floor

Bedroom 3
This dormer-windowed room has 2 twin beds, a chest of drawers and a dressing table. An armchair sits in the window.

Bedroom 4
Under the Velux window, this is a twin-bedded room, but it also does have another bed in case it is required for a kid's 'sleep-over'. It has a large chest of drawers.

Bathroom 3
This is situated between the two upstairs bedrooms and has a shower, small basin and Saniflow lavatory system.

Sheets, towels and all bed coverings are provided.
